§ 01Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using BillBuddy (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. We try to keep these terms short and readable; the parts in bold are the ones worth a second read.
§ 02What BillBuddy is
BillBuddy provides plain-language information about Rhode Island legislation, including AI-generated summaries, multi-perspective analysis, bill tracking, and a weekly recap. Our content is for informational purposes only and is not legal advice.If you're making a decision that depends on the precise language of a bill, please verify with the official source from the Rhode Island General Assembly.
§ 03Your responsibilities
When you use BillBuddy, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating an account.
- Keep your password reasonably private.
- Use the Service in compliance with applicable laws.
- Not attempt to interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service.
- Not scrape or harvest content at scale without permission — legislative data is public, but our analysis isn't.
- Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
§ 04Accounts
You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that are used to abuse the Service.
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Preferences. We retain account records for 30 days after deletion in case you change your mind, then permanently remove them.
§ 05Content & intellectual property
The BillBuddy name, logo, and original written content are owned by UpriseRI. Legislative text and official voting records are public information — we don't claim ownership of those.
AI-generated summaries and analyses are provided as a service. You're welcome to share or quote them with attribution and a link back; please don't republish them at commercial scale without asking us first.
§ 06Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is"without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or current. Legislation moves quickly, and our summaries are best-effort. For anything decisive, please verify against the official source.
§ 07Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UpriseRI and BillBuddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including but not limited to reliance on information provided.
§ 08Changes to the Service or these terms
We'll update these terms occasionally. Significant changes will be announced on the site and by email to account holders. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect counts as acceptance of the new terms.
We may also change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We try not to do this without warning, but we reserve the right to.
§ 09Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island. Any disputes that can't be worked out informally will be resolved in the appropriate Rhode Island court.
