WHEREAS, National School Choice Week 2026 will be recognized across the United States of America from January th to January st; and
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week provides an unprecedented opportunity to shine a positive spotlight on the need for effective education options for all children; and
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week is independently planned by a diverse and growing coalition of individuals, schools, and organizations, and features thousands of unique events and activities across the country; and
WHEREAS, Participants in National School Choice Week believe that parents should be empowered to choose the best educational environments for their children; and
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week allows participants to offer insight for Rhode Island families and organizations into the endless possibilities for achieving educational excellence through school choice; and
WHEREAS, This year, schools and organizations across Rhode Island will partner with families to raise awareness for the variety of school choice options, from traditional public schools to public charter schools, magnet schools, private schools, online learning, and homeschooling; and
WHEREAS, National School Choice Week is a nonpartisan public awareness effort and welcomes all Rhode Islanders to get involved and learn about the broad educational opportunities for the children of our State and for the future of our State; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby recognizes January th through January st, 2026, as "National School Choice Week" in the State of Rhode Island; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Andrew Campanella, President, National School Choice Week
